Lake Ozark Fishing Report

4-25-2013

The lake is hot right now with Bass, Crappie, White Bass all doing good. The water is from muddy to clear and the temp is in the mid 50′s and warming. All the fish are wanting to spawn and are just waiting for the temp to get right. You can fish shallow or in the mid range and catch fish. The upper end is turning on with the muddy water and warm day. About any bait is working if your in the right water for it. go early and stay late as crappie are biting all day. Don’t over look river fishing now, with the high water white bass are up in the creeks. spoonbill fishing is about over so try to get one before the end of April. Bass have been on the bite as well with higher water look for them close to the bank around rock and logs.

Now is the time to be on the water

The Lake is full and getting in to the mid to uper 70′s and the fishing is in summer pattrons. Bass are still biting good but are deeper on points. The water is starting to clear up but they are running water from trueman lake and this is keeping the main lake a little stained. Night fishing is good on points  with worms and jigs.

Crappie fishing has been good at night on minows and some jigs in fifteen to twenty feet of water over brush and around docks. This crappie are in the main lake.

Osage River is running full but the fishing is good  for bass and crappie. I have not fished for catfish so I don’t know if they are biting but they should be. Early morning has been the best for topwater, around ten the fish get in the brush on rocky banks are a little harder to get. You should fish slow and keep a good eye on your line.

Have fun and good fishng.
